The USS PREBLE was commissioned as a guided missile frigate ( DLG 15 ) and was reclassified
as a guided missile destroyer ( DDG 46 ) on 30 06 1975.
Decommissioned on 15 11 1991 and struck from the Navy list on 20 11 1992.
She was sold for scrap 15 04 1994 but repossessed 01 10 1996 resold 2002 and scrapping completed
on 25 03 2003
