Decommissioned and laid up in reserve at Den Helder from 26 October 1973 till the first of March 1983 when she was stricken. 
On 20 March 1985 she was towed to TOKM ( Technische Opleidingen Koninklijke Marine ) Amsterdam.
On 01 March 1995 she was transferred on loan to the Mariniersmuseum at Rotterdam and on 07 December 1995 she was renamed HOUTEPEN M 882.
In 2003 the Navy decided to sell her as scrap but she was saved and donated to the P.M.T. ( Stichting Promotie Maritieme Tradities ) who still operated her with volunteers, mostly former navy crewmembers. Later renamed as the MAHU M880.

The steamer tug WOLTMAN was sold in 1976 to the Netherlands where she changed hands several times in the following years. 
In 1984 the Museum Harbor Kappeln brought the WOLTMAN back to Germany. After 10 years of stagnation she came back to life in January 1994 and still is.

The Project 641 patrol submarines got the NATO reporting name of " FOXTROT " Type.
After been decommissioned she was sold to the SEAFRONT ZEEBRUGGE MUSEUM , BELGIUM. As the restoration costs were too expensive she was sold for scrap and arrived on 14 June 2019 at the scrapyard Van Heyghen GALLOO, Gent BELGIUM.

Surrendered on 09 May 1945 at Trondheim, NORWAY to the British forces but never transfered to the U.K. because she was unseaworthy. Transferred to Norway in October 1948 and commissioned in the Norwegian Navy as KAURA  S 309 on 01 December 1952. Decommissioned in 1965 she was saved by the German Navy League , DMB , and became a museum ship at Laboe Naval Memorial in October 1971.
