In 1969 she was reclassified as a auxiliary submarine  AGSS 319 and decommissioned on 07 11 1969
and placed in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet. She was reverted to SS 319 in 1971 and struck from the Naval Register on 15 08 1973. On 21 06 1976 she became a museum ship at Penn's Landing, Philadelphia near the USS OLYMPIA  CL 6.
